About Camp Yawgoog
Founded in 1916 as “A Scout Adventureland Forever,” Camp Yawgoog is situated on
1,800 acres in Rockville, Rhode Island. The property includes all of Yawgoog
pond, part of Wincheck Pond and all of smaller Hidden Lake. Yawgoog is divided
into three separate camps: Three Point, Medicine Bow and Sandy Beach. Each camp
has its own campsites, dining hall, waterfront and traditions but all three
camps offer the same opportunities and share program facilities. For example,
the Nature Center is located in Camp Three Point, but is available to all
scouts. There are also hiking trails and remote campsites. Yawgoog is a part of
the Narragansett Council, Boy Scouts of America. Scout troops from all over the
Northeast attend Camp Yawgoog. There can be as many as 1,000 scouts at Camp
Yawgoog in any given week in the summer, most attending with their troop.
