Have Fun!!! Camp Yawgoog is designed for scouts
to advance in scouting and to have fun in the process.
-
The Troop Hat must be worn at all times during
your stay at Camp Yawgoog. The only exceptions to this are during swimming,
shower time and when sleeping. During these times, leave your hat in your
footlocker. You must wear your hat to meals, but remove it before entering
the dining hall.
-
Scouts cannot leave the campsite alone. Scouts
must have at least one buddy with them at all times when not in Campsite
Backwoods.
-
Shoes, boots, sneakers with socks or sandals
must be worn at all times except when swimming or sleeping.
-
Supper is in Class A uniforms. Class B is
recommended for all other meals.
-
Running is not allowed at Camp Yawgoog except
during some activities.
-
In order to enter another’s platform tent or
Adirondack shelter, you must get their permission first. Except in
emergencies, adult leaders are not allowed in scout’s sleeping quarters and
scouts are not allowed in adult’s sleeping quarters.
-
Scouts are not allowed into the bathrooms when
adults are in them and vice versa. When an adult is using the bathroom they
will hang their hat on the door to indicate that scouts should wait outside.
Scouts must use the bathrooms, not the woods.
-
Bathrooms and showers are safe zones. There will
be severe consequences for any scout who causes trouble for scout in these
areas.
-
A scout may not be alone with one adult unless
it is his parent.
-
Get permission from the owner before using
something that is not yours.
-
Food kept in sleeping quarters must be kept in
footlockers at all times.
-
Each tent and Adirondack must be cleaned daily.
This includes sweeping, picking up everything off the floor except
footlockers, picking up trash around the outside and straightening out
sleeping bags and pillows. Scouts will also be assigned other campsite
chores. Campsite Backwoods will be inspected daily.
-
Scouts must sign out for all activities except
when the entire troop is going to the same activity such as meals and
all-camp campfires. Sign-out must indicate your destination(s). Once you are
signed out and leave the campsite, you may not alter your plans.
-
Monday night at 5:00 PM there will be a Lost Boy
Drill. You must be in Campsite Backwoods at that time.
-
To whittle or carve items, you will need a Totin
Chip. If you have one, bring it to camp with you. Scouts attending Yawgoog
for the first time will earn it as part of the New Frontiers program. Other
scouts can earn it if they wish. Axes, saws and knives will be used in
designated areas only.
-
If you have a problem, see the Senior Patrol
Leader (SPL) or Assistant Senior Patrol Leader (ASPL) first. If there is no
resolution, see an adult leader.
